Plane Crashes in India

NEW DELHI —
An Indian military transport plane crashed shortly after takeoff Tuesday near a village in Orissa state, killing all nine crew members and three people on the ground, All-India Radio said.
The Soviet-built plane burst into flames shortly after taking off from the eastern city of Cuttack, it said. Burning wreckage slammed into a village, killing three people and injuring 15. Several houses and shops were set ablaze.
