Brian Propp scored two goals as the Philadelphia Flyers ended the Washington Capitals’ five-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory at Philadelphia.

The Flyers, who moved back into first place in the National Hockey League’s Patrick Division, ended a three-game losing streak.

The game also marked the return of Philadelphia center Tim Kerr, who made his first appearance since last April 24. Kerr had been sidelined by a shoulder injury that required five operations.

Calgary 5, Winnipeg 3--Rookie Joe Nieuwendyk scored his 47th and 48th goals of the season as the Flames defeated the Jets at Calgary to tie idle Montreal with 88 points, the most in the NHL.

Vancouver played without Coach Bob McCammon, who was given a 10-game suspension by league officials for an incident in a game earlier this week against the New York Islanders.

Quebec 4, New York Islanders 3--Lane Lambert’s second goal of the game and 11th of the season with 2:23 left gave the Nordiques the victory over the Islanders at Uniondale, N.Y.

St. Louis 6, Pittsburgh 4--Doug Gilmour scored two power-play goals as the Blues overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat the Penguins at St. Louis.
