‘Hothead’ Gets Award Over Spilled Drinks
A man who said his hearing was damaged when a Lufthansa airline attendant spilled hot drinks over his head has won nearly $40,000 in damages, a newspaper here reported Sunday.
The plaintiff, a Bahraini lawyer identified as Abdul-Wahab Harmas, had filed the suit against the West German airline in Bahrain’s High Civil Court.
The lawsuit alleged negligence and said the flight attendant accidentally spilled four pots of hot coffee and tea over his head, according to the English-language Gulf Daily News.
The paper said the accident occurred during a flight from Frankfurt to Bahrain when the plane hit severe turbulence.
