Thrifty Corp. said it has acquired Dave Cook Sporting Goods, a privately held, Denver-based chain with 21 stores in Colorado and Wyoming, for an undisclosed price. Los Angeles-based Thrifty, a unit of Pacific Enterprises, operates 160 sporting goods stores in eight states in the West, Rocky Mountains and Midwest, including Los Angeles-based Big 5, Denver-based Gart Bros. and Grand Rapids, Mich.-based MC Sporting Goods. Thrifty also operates 641 drug stores in nine Western states.
