HemaCare Loses $336,632 in ‘87; Gains in 4th Quarter

HemaCare said it earned $56,415, or 2 cents a share, in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, but lost $336,632, or 11 cents a share, for all of 1987.

The Sherman Oaks company--which sells blood products and provides blood banking and services to people--lost $159,464, or 8 cents a share, in the fourth quarter a year earlier. In 1986, the company lost $291,271, or 17 cents a share.

Revenue rose 19% to $986,000 in the fourth quarter from a year earlier. For all of 1987 revenue increased 13% to $3.4 million. The company said increases in revenue for therapeutic hemapheresis--blood treatment for patients with immune-system disorders--boosted overall revenue.
