Nurseries That Specialize in Perennials

Though many nurseries will be stocking perennials this spring, these nurseries specialize in them. If we missed someone, be sure to let us know.

Judy’s Perennials, 436 Buena Creek Road, San Marcos, (619) 744-4343. Back-yard nursery specializing in perennials. Open by appointment only.

Roger’s Gardens, 2301 San Joaquin Hills Road, Corona del Mar, (818) 640-5800, has a section devoted to perennials in 4-inch pots and gallon cans.

Palos Verdes Begonia Farm, 4111 242nd St., Walteria, (213) 378-2228, has a good selection of perennials, especially in 4-inch pots.

Burkard Nurseries, 690 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena, (818) 796-4355, grows, mostly in gallon cans, many of their own perennials, which won’t be found elsewhere.

Desert-to-Jungle Nursery, 3211 W. Beverly Blvd., Montebello, (213) 722-3976, grows only rare plants, including many perennials. Open only on weekends.

Mordigan Nursery, 6285 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, (213) 655-6027, has a section devoted to perennials, especially in 4-inch pots.

Sassafras Nursery, 275 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, (213) 455-1933, specializes in perennials, mostly in gallon cans.

Sperling Nursery, 24460 Calabasas Road, Calabasas, (818) 340-7639, has a large selection in gallon cans and 4-inch pots, including some rare ones from Northern California growers.
