TRAVELING IN STYLE : PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

Neuschwanstein, built by Bavaria’s eccentric King Ludwig II, is an enchanting fairy-tale structure located about two hours from Munich. One of the most photographed castles in the world, it continues to challenge the artistry of touring camera buffs. Unfinished when Ludwig was declared unfit to rule in 1886, it remains a striking memorial to the king who was called mad. Many of the decorations are testimonials to Ludwig’s devotion to composer Richard Wagner. Annual concerts, which are extremely popular, take place in the rococo castle in September.
