Police moved in on a crowd of more than 500 people demonstrating today against a U.S. military presence in Central America, arresting an estimated 225 protesters who tried to block the entrance to the Federal Building.

Baton-wielding officers began rounding up demonstrators after police Capt. William Welch warned the crowd they were gathered illegally and ordered them to disperse.
