Teaching Center Set for UCLA

WASHINGTON — A new national research center will be established at UCLA to improve the teaching of history in elementary and high schools, the National Endowment for the Humanities announced today.
The NEH said it will provide up to $500,000 a year for the next three years to fund the Center on the Teaching and Learning of History in Elementary and Secondary Schools at the school. UCLA was the finalist among 11 institutions that competed for the funding.
