Eastern Airlines filed an appeal of a federal judge’s rulings that barred the carrier from selling its East Coast air shuttle service and threatened fines if the company proceeded with the deal. The airline asked U.S. District Judge John H. Pratt to reverse his own March 10 contempt finding against Eastern for attempting to sell the shuttle, which flies between Boston, New York and Washington, for $225 million to a new Texas Air subsidiary.
