A New York jury considering murder charges against a prep school graduate accused of strangling a young woman in Central Park ended a seventh day of deliberations with the judge telling them: “We’ll do everything we can to aid you in reaching a verdict.” Supreme Court Justice Howard E. Bell implored panel members to ask questions or request any additional information they might need. Robert Chambers, 21, has been charged with murdering Jennifer Levin, 18, on Aug. 26, 1986. Chambers admitted killing her but claimed in a videotaped statement that he accidentally choked her during rough sex.
