MORE ON L.A. WOMEN

Share

I was quite disturbed by “The L.A. Woman--A Special Report: The Times Poll,” by Cathleen Decker (Feb. 21). With regard to the statement, “The number of Asian women in this poll’s random sample was representative of the population at large, but, using current poll-analysis techniques, it was too small to be statistically significant”: I felt that it did a disservice to all Asian women to leave them out because they were “statistically insignificant.” Women in areas with high Asian concentrations such as, Monterey Park, Chinatown, Little Tokyo or Koreatown, should have been contacted; I am sure enough responses could have been obtained from which generalizations could have been made. I am an Asian-American woman who would definitely like to know how other Asian women feel on these issues described in the article.
