IBM will acquire Pacific Telesis’ PacTel Spectrum Services unit for an undisclosed cash price. PacTel Spectrum, which helps pinpoint the cause of transmission failure through remotely controlled test equipment located on the customer’s premises, will become a part of IBM’s national service division.
