Don Thomas, 76, former political editor of the Oakland Tribune and an editorial writer for the Los Angeles Times for 11 years before retiring in 1976. Thomas started with the Tribune in 1925 as a copy boy and soon was a reporter. He covered state and national politics for 30 years and knew many government leaders and legislators across the country. In Santa Rosa on March 15 of complications of Parkinson’s disease.
