CBS Inc. said it has offered significantly increased pension benefits to about 800 of its 7,000 employees if they elect to retire within the next four months. A company spokeswoman, Alice Henderson, said the company had set no goal for how many people it hoped would take advantage of the program. Retirement must occur no later than July 29. The special retirement program is available to CBS employees 55 years of age and older who have at least 10 years of pension vesting credit. Those who accept the offer will get pension benefits calculated as if the employee were five years older and had completed an additional five years of service.
