Western Digital named Robert N. Stephens general manager of the company’s Communication and Subsystems Strategic Business Unit. He will succeed Chester A. Brown Jr., who was recently promoted to vice president and general manager of the Irvine computer company’s Paradise Systems subsidiary in Brisbane, San Mateo County. Stephens was formerly vice president of human resources and development at Western Digital. The Communication and Subsystems group is expected to post sales of about $20 million this year.
