Sunrise worshipers along the coast may find Sunday morning a bit foggy but later it should be a clear and warm, perfect for hunting Easter eggs.

The forecast for the weekend is all clear, with the latest Santa Ana reaching its peak on Saturday.

San Diego will not experience the record-breaking heat of last weekend but for the next few days it should be warm, dry and slightly breezy, followed by cool nights, according to National Weather Service forecaster Wilbur Shigehara. Temperatures in all areas except the deserts and mountains will dip a few degrees by Sunday, he said.

Sunday is also the beginning of daylight-saving time, with clocks moving ahead one hour.

Right for the Beach

The forecast for the beach today and Saturday should hearten sun worshipers: highs of 70-75 degrees are predicted. Those temperatures are expected to drop to 65-70 on Sunday. The ocean water will remain at a chilly 62 degrees.

Coastal temperatures will be between 75-80 today and Saturday, and down to 68-74 Sunday. Nighttime lows will be 46-52 degrees. Inland highs are expected to be a balmy 77-84 today and Saturday and 72-78 on Sunday. Overnight lows inland will fall to between 38 and 48.

Winds gusting to 25-40 m.p.h. may stir up dust in the deserts and the mountains early today, but the breeze will die down by afternoon, Shigehara said.

Cool in Mountains

The deserts will remain warm, with temperatures between 75-80 today, rising to 78-84 Saturday and Sunday. Desert nights will be cool, at 40-50 degrees. The mountains will be the only area not affected by the Santa Ana, with cool springtime highs of 50-57 degrees on Friday and 53-60 degrees Saturday and Sunday. Low temperatures of 27-35 degrees may be cold enough to bring frost to the hills, and could conceivably damage the budding apple crop in Julian, Shigehara warned.

The warm, dry temperatures in all other areas, however, are predicted to continue through the month of May, Shigehara said.
