New Jersey Air Guard Unit Bound for Honduras

TRENTON, N.J. —
Fifty members of the New Jersey Air National Guard are scheduled to depart today for Honduras, just two days after the last of the 3,150 U.S. soldiers sent there in mid-March as a show of force against Nicaragua returned home.
The New Jersey unit has been assigned to perform minor reconstruction of the Palmerola Air Base and renovate an old school, said Capt. John Guarascio. “This is just a normal, two-week training mission,” he said. “This is not a combat mission in any way.”
