Local News in Brief : Drunken Driver Sweep
A police task force arrested 119 suspected drunken drivers during a weekend sweep in South-Central Los Angeles, authorities said.
Officers operating out of a command post at Mt. Carmel Park arrested the motorists on suspicion of being under the influence and booked them using the Immediate Booking and Release System, which operates out of two converted buses. Suspects are held in one bus until they can be picked up by friends or relatives.
