National Security Agency Chief Retiring on Aug. 1

WASHINGTON — Lt. Gen. William Odom will retire Aug. 1 as director of the National Security Agency, the Defense Department announced Tuesday. Odom, 55, who has been director of the intelligence agency since 1985, has served in the Army for 34 years. No replacement was named.
