Florida health consultant Dr. M. Lee Pearce increased his stake in American Medical International to 6.6% from 5.4%. According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Pearce bought 801,000 additional shares for $12.625 to $16.425 each from Feb. 8 to April 4. AMI, a Beverly Hills hospital chain, had no comment.
