S. Korea and U.S. End 10-Day Military Games
From Reuters
SEOUL, South Korea —
The United States and South Korea ended a 10-day military exercise Thursday. A U.S. military spokesman said the training exercise, involving 140,000 South Korean and 60,000 U.S. troops, improved defense readiness.
The simulated war games, which included an amphibious beach landing, river crossings and live fire exercises, were part of 10 weeks of annual maneuvers.
North Korea put its troops on top combat alert last month, denouncing the games as “extremely dangerous test nuclear war exercises.”
