Crafts-lovers and do-it-yourselfers are as time pressed as everyone else.

To squeeze the most out of the precious time these folks dedicate to their hobbies, the publishers of the crafters’ magazine “Crafts ‘n Things” offer these tips.

--To unwrinkle yarn that has already been used, wrap it around your ironing board and steam out the kinks with a steam iron, turning the yarn as you press it.

--Nail polish remover, applied with a cotton ball, will remove the stickiness from scissors gummed up from cutting tape.

--Get the most out of a typewriter ribbon by running it from one spool to the other while applying drops of alcohol every few inches. The alcohol dissolves and spreads the unused ink.

--For quick touch ups, a few drops of baby oil mixed with food coloring makes a convenient substitute for oil paint.

--To prevent the caps from sticking on tubes or bottles of sticky things such as glue or nail polish, apply a drop of oil to the threads inside the cap.
