Coping With Taxes as April 15 Nears

Share

Along with many other people, I wish to voice annoyance, frustration and anger at this year’s income tax returns. We all had hoped for an easier return. We were wrong, and we should have known better.

I am retired so I volunteered to help others with their tax returns. The experience, while rewarding, only reveals what a monster we have made.

I don’t blame IRS officials; they are only carrying out the mandate of Congress. I don’t even blame our congressmen; they are trying to solve our economic problems, and since they do not complete their own returns, they are unaware of the monster. I only hope, beg, challenge someone, somewhere, somehow to slay the monster which steals our productive time, encourages dishonesty, and drives us crazy.
