Subaru of America has announced a recall of some of its 1988 four-wheel-drive Justy models sold before April 1, 1988, to correct a wiring problem that could cause an electrical short-circuit or engine fire.

About 300 to 600 of the vehicles equipped with an accessory air conditioner will be modified to correct an alternator wire chafing problem, the company announced Friday. No related accidents or injuries have been reported.
