Westminster : Health Exams, Amnesty Data Offered at Mall

Legalization information and low-cost health exams will be available at an amnesty clinic April 23 at the Asian Garden Mall in Westminster.

A doctor appointed by the Immigration and Naturalization Service and 15 INS officers will participate at the workshop sponsored by the Chinese American Lions Club of Orange County beginning at 10 a.m. at 9200 Bolsa Ave.

Undocumented aliens who have lived continuously in the United States since Jan. 1, 1982, qualify for legalization under a 1986 immigration law.

The required medical exams, which cannot be completed the same day because of the necessary AIDS test, will be performed for $80.

INS Western regional Commissioner Harold Ezell will speak at a luncheon at noon, according to Lions president Daniel Shen.

Western regional Asian outreach coordinator John Tu will conduct a seminar on amnesty at 10 a.m. and discuss employer sanctions at 11 a.m., Shen said. The seminars will be in Mandarin but Tu will entertain questions in English, Shen added.
