International Remote Imaging Posts 3rd Annual Loss in a Row

International Remote Imaging Systems posted its third consecutive annual loss in 1987, although the deficit narrowed from the previous year.

The Chatsworth-based company, which makes urinalysis machines used by hospitals and commercial laboratories, lost $1.34 million, compared with a $2.39-million loss in 1986. International Remote Imaging lost $1.90 million in 1985.

The company’s revenue last year jumped 59% to $6.05 million from $3.81 million. But its costs of producing the equipment rose sharply to $3.03 million from $1.77 million in 1986.
