Soldier Sentenced to Die for 2 Slayings

FT. BRAGG, N.C. —
A 22-year-old former Army cook was sentenced to death Tuesday by a court-martial panel for raping and murdering two women.
Ronald A. Gray already had been sentenced to eight life terms in a separate civilian case after he confessed to raping and killing the two women.
The court-martial panel returned its unanimous verdict after about two hours of deliberations. The panel also reduced Gray from specialist 4th class to private, forfeited his pay and ordered him dishonorably discharged from the Army.
