About 170 teams of explosives experts working around the clock have cleared 20,000 unexploded missiles, grenades and other weapons from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the wake of Sunday’s explosion at an ammunition depot that killed 96 and injured more than 1,000, state-run Pakistan television reported. A five-man Navy team helped to clear the U.S. Embassy grounds, and officials said about 20 devices were found on U.S. property. In Washington, State Department spokesman Charles Redman said he has no information on The Times’ report quoting sources as saying that sabotage caused the massive explosion. Another State Department official said that “so far, everything points to an accident.”
