The Newport Harbor Art museum has shelled out $10,000 to local TV stations to advertise “Poem for LA,” Chris Burden’s 1975 video art, as part of a retrospective show on the L.A. artist opening Sunday. “We’re buying television time because there are a lot of people who just don’t read articles about art,” museum spokeswoman Kathy Bryant explained.
