The Race for a Seat in 40th Congress District

Share

I’m confused about your article (April 9) concerning Christopher Cox and his lawsuit against the state of California.

In all of his appearances and in his recent mailers Cox, a 40th Congressional District candidate, talks about his experience as a “key” and “senior” adviser to the President.

He even sued the state of California for permission to list our President’s name next to his on the official ballot to emphasize his “senior associate counsel” relationship to our President.

Yet you reported that when Cox was asked under oath about this relationship to the President, he told the judge that the two tasks he was responsible for were deciding whether some meetings needed to be public under the Freedom of Information Act and overseeing the use of the presidential seal.

Cox lost the suit. My question is: Do you really think our President regularly consults with someone about how the presidential seal is being used, or is Cox misleading us about his relationship to the President?
