Spring storms dumped up to 11 inches of wet snow on New England, and scattered snow showers fell across New York state and northwestern Pennsylvania. The heavy snowfall snapped tree branches and broke power lines in Maine, where about 13,000 households were without electricity, utilities said. Maine state police reported more than 100 traffic accidents, but none involved serious injury. Temperatures were in the 30s and 40s from the upper Ohio Valley across the northern and central Appalachian region to the northern Atlantic Coast.
