A former employee of Litton Industries’ electronics and communications division was awarded $750,000 in lost income and punitive damages after a jury found his employers guilty of firing him without cause. Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Martha Goldin awarded the judgment to Ali Asghar, 58, of Thousand Oaks, after jurors said Agoura-based Litton Data Command Systems wrongfully fired the program manager. Litton was ordered to pay Asghar $374,300 for lost wages and $375,700 in punitive damages. Asghar contended that he was dismissed in November, 1982, because he did not get along with his boss. Litton had said he was fired for doing a poor job. Litton attorney Robert W. Speer said he was unsure whether Litton would appeal the verdict.
