Iran-Iraq War
As members of the Iranian community in Los Angeles, we feel that the the war in the Persian Gulf has profoundly affected our lives. Irrespective of the picture that has been painted of us in the press, we care no less about our loved ones and fellow countrymen as you do about yours. As such, we unequivocally condemn this war, even to the extent of taking no sides in the conflict whatsoever.
Many of us are deeply concerned about the safety of the families and friends we have left behind. The “War of the Cities” with its bombing of civilian targets by both Iran and Iraq have distressed us deeply. We live under the constant threat that one of our loved ones will be the next victim.
This war should end, for it benefits no one.
