Norwalk : Rodriguez Takes Over Gavel
Norwalk council members unanimously chose Marcial (Rod) Rodriguez as Norwalk’s new mayor Tuesday evening, and Councilwoman Grace Napolitano was selected mayor pro tem.
Rodriguez, a councilman for the past six years, previously served as mayor in 1985. He was mayor pro tem under Mayor Peg Nelson, who stepped down this spring after 12 years on the council. Napolitano was elected to the council in 1986.
The victors in last week’s election, council newcomer Mike Mendez and six-term council veteran Robert E. White, also took their seats this week.
