A leader of a Los Angeles street gang who allegedly ran at least three “crack” houses in Seattle has been arrested in Oklahoma, federal officials said.

Derrick (Vamp) Hargress of Los Angeles was arrested early Saturday after he was tracked to Oklahoma City by members of Seattle’s anti-gang task force, Assistant. U.S. Atty. Gene Wilson said. A gun, about a pound of cocaine and $35,000 in cash were seized during the arrest, Wilson said.

Hargress was one of six people charged in a federal complaint filed April 7 in Seattle with conspiring to distribute cocaine. The other five remain in custody.
