Mexicana and three smaller Mexican airlines will cover 14 domestic routes that had been flown by the government’s bankrupt airline Aeromexico, the government newspaper El Nacional reported. It said Mexicana will take over flights between Mexico City and Mazatlan, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez and Durango. Aeromar will cover routes between Toluca and the central cities of Leon, Aguascalientes and Morelia; Aerocaribe will serve southern and southeastern cities from Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula to Tapachula at the border with Guatemala, and Federal Air Transport will fly between Mexico City and Durango, Torreon, Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez, the paper said.
