Ron Meyer defeated Olympic champion Greg Louganis in the last round of the men’s three-meter springboard finals at the U.S. Diving Championships in Milwaukee.
Meyer scored 675.03 points to win his first national title. Louganis, a 43-time U.S. champion, finished second with 666.99. The loss was Louganis’ second in the meet; he finished second behind Mark Bradshaw in the one-meter dive.
Tristan Baker-Schultz outscored 14-time national champion Megan Neyer, 510.99 to 503.97, in the women’s event.
