David Sabey, a Seattle-area developer whose previous offer to buy the Seattle Mariners was rejected, has informed Mariner owner George Argyros that he will buy a minority interest in the American League baseball team, the Seattle Times reported.
Sabey’s purchase of a minority share would in effect guarantee the Mariners would stay in Seattle, assuming he had the resources to buy the entire franchise.
