A 7-pound, 13-ounce son, Chesare, was born to entertainer-restaurateur Sonny Bono, the recently elected mayor of Palm Springs, and his wife, Mary. Doctors at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs said the 53-year-old father, 26-year-old mother and newly born son were all doing “just fine” after the Caesarian section delivery. A hospital spokesman said the father--who was elected mayor of the desert resort community on April 12, the night after his first wife, Cher, received an Academy Award for best actress--fed his son the child’s first bottle about a half hour after the delivery. The boy is Sonny Bono’s first son. He has two daughters by his two previous marriages.
