1,800 Return Home After Toxic Vapors Dissipate

COPPERHILL, Tenn. —
About 1,800 people in three east Tennessee communities and a nearby Georgia town were allowed to return home after a cloud from a toxic chemical leak dissipated, officials said. About 1.1 tons of sulfur trioxide leaked Sunday from an indoor tank at the Tennessee Chemical Co., officials said. There were no reported injuries. Workers were searching for the cause of the leak.
