‘Jilted’

Australia, 1987, 92 minutes , 10:15 p.m . Blue sea and sky. White sand. Green lovers. Bill Bennett works in the semi-improvisatory style of John Cassavetes; what he gains in truth is sometimes blunted by awkwardness. But this roundelay--on a sextet of jilters and jilted, and their fluid relations at a coastal resort--has insights into love, ego, sex and guilt that amuse and sting.
