Local News in Brief : Nebraska Educator Named Dean at CSUN
William Hosek, a department chairman at the Omaha campus of the University of Nebraska, was appointed dean of the School of Business Administration and Economics at Cal State Northridge, CSUN officials said Tuesday.
Hosek, 51, is chairman of the Department of Economics and the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance at Omaha. He has undergraduate and doctoral degrees in economics from UC Santa Barbara. Hosek spent 11 years teaching at the University of New Hampshire before moving to Nebraska, where he has spent the last 10 years.
He replaces James Manos, who has been acting dean of the Northridge business school for almost 18 months. Manos was named acting dean after Andrew F. Sikula resigned in 1986 after only six months as CSUN’s business dean.
Hosek’s appointment is effective July 18.
