Fresno County Leads U.S. in Farm Revenues

Fresno County led the nation in 1987 crop production with a record $2.27 billion in gross farm revenues, up 7% from the previous year, Cosmo Insalaco, county agricultural commissioner, said Tuesday.
Insalaco told the county Board of Supervisors that cotton had replaced grapes as the top crop, with 1987 gross returns for both cotton lint and seeds reaching $453.6 million.
