Wendy’s International Inc. rebounded, posting a first-quarter profit of $3.5 million in contrast with a loss of $6.8 million in the same period a year earlier. The Dublin, Ohio-based hamburger restaurant chain operator said the improvement reflected success in the company’s efforts to build sales and cut costs. Revenue slipped 1.2% to $253.6 million from the comparable period a year earlier.
