Attorneys for Carl Lewis and Nike say...
Attorneys for Carl Lewis and Nike say they have agreed to drop their lawsuits this week or next, ending a year-long dispute.
Lewis had filed suit in federal court, charging that Nike breached their contract by dropping him last April.
Nike, in its countersuit, alleged that Lewis was contractually obligated to wear the company’s gear at all track and field events, and didn’t. Lewis’ 5-year contract with Nike was to run through 1988. He has since signed a contract with another shoe company.
