First Named Storms of ’88 Will Be Alberto and Aletta

MIAMI —
Alberto will be the Atlantic’s first named storm of 1988 and Aletta will be the name of the Pacific’s first storm, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has announced. The storms get names when they achieve tropical storm status, with winds of at least 38 m.p.h.
