The Italian railroad launched its fastest commercial train Friday with a trial run that trimmed almost an hour off the 393-mile trip from Rome to Milan.

The “Super-Train,” or ETR450, replaces the “Super-Rapido” currently in service, and will begin full service May 29.

The train, capable of traveling 155 m.p.h., made the Rome-Milan trip in 4 hours, 3 minutes, the railroad said.
