Carl Karcher Should Be Judged by His Achievements, Generosity to Charities

Share

It is truly a shame when, in today’s largely immoral business society, where greed is the prime motivator and the only universal rule is “don’t get caught,” the SEC targets a man who still embodies the true work ethic of perseverance, faith and hands-on management as a target to exploit to the news media, in a case that would be considered small potatoes by an insider trading case standard.

It is clear to any Southern Californian who has followed Karcher’s career that greed has no place in his philosophy. He has shown great generosity towards the people of the Southland, giving easily and quietly to many different charities and contributing in many ways to the local Catholic churches. It is a shame that he must be dragged through the mud of a media circus in order for the SEC to show the American public that it is not asleep. Regardless of the outcome, I’m sure that, due to the respect that he has earnestly earned from the local community, he will emerge from this event untarnished, while the SEC has already shown where its tail is.
