Four Mexican-born children who received temporary amnesty cards last week before this coming Wednesday’s deadline for applications are hoping to be reunited as a family with their two U.S.-born sisters.

The Carrillo children--Jesus, 14; Esau, 10; Denny, 9; Tommy, 7, and twins Vivian and Eileen, 6, were orphaned when their father, Jesus B. Carrillo, 43, shot his wife, Bertha Cuevas Carrillo, 30, and then killed himself.

The three girls live with a foster family in Huntington Beach. Their brothers, after unsuccessful attempts to place them with foster families, are back at Orangewood, the county’s emergency shelter for abused and neglected children.
